Description of Surah Al-Fatiha, Ayah 7
Arabic Text:
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ
Translation (Urdu):
“اس راستے پر چلا جو تونے اپنے ان بندوں کو دیا ہے جن پر تیرا انعام ہوا ہے، نہ کہ ان پر جن پر تیرا غصہ نازل ہوا، اور نہ ہی گمراہوں میں سے۔”
Tafsir (Explanation):
This refrain finishes the solicitation made in the past stanza by determining the sort of direction the devotee looks for. It is a supplication to be directed along the way of the people who have procured Allah’s approval and favors, as opposed to the way of the individuals who have caused His rage or gotten sidetracked.
- “صراط الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ” (the path of those whom You have favored) refers to the path followed by the righteous, the Prophets, the truthful, and the pious—those who have received Allah’s blessings for their devotion and adherence to His commands.
- “غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ” (not the path of those who have earned Your anger) refers to those who have deviated from the truth, such as the disbelievers or those who have knowingly turned away from the guidance of Allah.
- “وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ” (nor of those who are astray) refers to those who are unaware of the right path, such as the misguided or those who are lost in error due to ignorance or lack of proper guidance.
This section accentuates the significance of being coordinated to the noble way, which prompts progress in both this world and the Great beyond. It features that direction isn’t just about finding the correct way yet in addition about staying away from the ways of the people who have gotten sidetracked or acquired Allah’s disappointment.
Relevance:
The section urges the adherent to take a stab at the way of uprightness and heavenly blessing, looking for Allah’s assistance to stay away from the snares of misguidance and dismay. It supports the meaning of following the instances of the Prophets and exemplary people, while avoiding the disaster areas.
